STILL UNSETTLED.
(Received February 27th, 12.55 a.m.) | ADELAIDE, February 26. The fir© brigades' strike has not yet been settled. Both sides are firm. The Fire Brigades' Board reports that plenty of volunteers are offering. Applicants approaching tho stations aro accosted by ex-firemen, who are picketing. Many have been induced to change their minds. A movement is afoot for the Mayors to mediate. Tho Government have nothing to do with the matter beyond giving moral support to the Board, which is confident of its ability to carry on and afford tho necessary protection to property. Tho City Council discussed tho tion and negatived a resolution condemning tho Board for locking out the firemen.
