SYDNEY, February 24. Tremendous interest is being taken in the cricket controversy. Tho general opinion is that it is not yet too late to" effect a settlement. Several 01.l players, when interviewed, supports 1 the action of the rebellious six, Johns, the ex-Victorian wicket-keeper, and Lyons, the South Australian hitter, agreeing that the players should havo more say in the control of the game. SIX MORE INVITATIONS. (Received February 25th, 5.5 p.m.) SYDNEY, February 24. The selectors have invited Emery, Jennings. Kolleway, Matthews, Mayne, .and Whitty to join the team for England. Only one player is still to bo chosen should these accept.
