THE DtTNEDIN TOURNAMENT,
(PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) DUNEDIN, December 27. The New Zealand Bowling Tournament opened tc-day in fairly good weather,.and the ereena were in, surprisingly good order, considering tho climatic conditions prevailing of late There are three competitions in the Rink Match-Champion, B and C—and when the- players have a certain proportion of losses they drop automatically out of the chammonehip, first into the B and later the 0 Competition. At the doeo ti the day's play the following were left in the Championship:— Dunedin Green ilann(Fairfirid), Maynard (Aahburton), Cooper lilaituna), Stevenson (Taieri). Kaituna Green— iiayao (Kaituna), Biack (IJmiedin), Tillie (Ceversham), Carswoil North Kast Valley Green—Smith (Kaituna), "White (St. Kilda). Young (Green Island), Mciarlano (St.. Kilda). St. Kilda Green-Kennedy (Greenmeaderers), Bentlcy (Dunedin), McCardy (St. Kilda), end Carson fKoituna). A progressive doubles tournament was held on tbo Sydenham green on Boxing Day and provided a good afternoon's eport, the winning skip being Howinson. Wheeler, Marks, and Blackmore secured equal points for the leads, and will play off for the prize.
