Details rcvksaled iat the trial of packers at Chicago show that in 1902 a plan was arranged to merge the Armour, Swift, and Morris interests, with a view to controlling tlio United States meat industry. 'A capital of £100,000,000 was involved, but the plan was abandoned, as being-unwork-able at that time.
