The window of a vault in St. Mark's cemetery was broken, and the remains of Alexander Karageorgovitch, the father of King Peter, of Servia, was taken out,of the coffin, and the skull etolen. The jewels were untouched. During tho miscreants' flight, the lower jaw became separated from the rest of the head and was lost. The outrago is ascribed to a Servian revolutionary society called "The Black Hand."
