RETURNS TO WELLINGTON. • The Prime Minister (Sir Joseph Ward) with Lady Ward. Miss Eileen Ward, Mr Gladstone Ward, and Messrs Hislop and Matthews (private secretaries) arrived in Christchurch from the south by the first express on Saturday evening. Tlib party loft for Wellington the same evening. Sir Joseph looked much better than when he passed through Chxistchurch on his way south. In reply to an enquiry as to-his health, he said that he felt Al at Lloyd's, aiid politically he was not a bit dispirited. He said that he looked forward with confidence to tho decision of the people an Thursday next. He had every reason to hope that tho results would be favourable to the Government, and that a good working majority would be. returned. It was impossible for him to discuss details, but he fully believed that the victory of the Government was certain.
