CANTERBURY ASSOCIATION'S ANNUAL MEETING.
I The annual meeting of the Canterbury Lawn Tennis Association was heSLd last evening. Mr E. J. Koao preeided over an atterad- , auco of fifteen delegutet.. Tho annual report showed that twenty-nine clubs -were now ofliliaicd to tbe Association, the total number of members being 1714. Tho balanco-eheot ehowed receipts £127 15s 3d, and expenditure £115 17s Bd, leaving a credit balance of £11 17s 7d for the year's working. Added to last year's balance tho Association begins the year with tho gum of £48 Gs i>l in hand. On tun motion of Mr E. J. Rose the report and balance-sheet were adopted. Officers were elected as follows:—Patron, Dr. C. J. Ned will; president, Mr W. Goes; t vice-presidents, Mesera E. J. Roas, A. Borrows, B. D. Harm an: secretary and troaEuror, Mr B. J. Taylor; auditor, Mr P. Dunnago: dol-cgatse to New Zealand Lawn Tennis Aejociatioa, Messrs H. Brown, P, Wiite-Parsons, and A. W. Gore; vice-presi-dent to New Zealand Lawn, Tcnnie Associt»tion, Mr W. Goes; match committee, Meeera G. L. Berry, J. H. Kirk, and F. Cooper; polector for intorprovinaial matches, Mr E. J. Boss. : It woe •unanimously deoiSed that the Association place on reoprd its high apprecialiou of tho manner in which Mr Boss has carried out hie duties as president. .. Mr Taylor moyed that the vkw-prenidents and Messrs F. r Cooper, F. Oxford, J. B. Sinclair, and J. H. Witliame be appointed a vuboommitioe for thc.purpoee of promoting,the I intereste of the game, frsuninsr more rocogniI tion forth* ganse irqm the Prees, to go into ' tho quwtion of enKaßinj; a profesgional coach, the eecuring of. aq-equarte grounds, and to draw up * scheme of competitions among the country clubs; The motion waa carried j unanimously. . ,
