A. C. Hardy, who was iv I charge of the Bill, acquitted Sir Joseph Ward of any intention of killing the I Bill. He said he felt quite sure that the Prime Minister did not wieh to do that. Sir Joseph Ward said he had no each . intention. When the Speaker resumed the chair just before 11 p.m., the various BOle were reported from committee, and the House, at Mr Hardy's request, again went into Committeo on the -Mount Hutt County Bill. Mr Nosworthy opposed the Bill, and said he would have a large number of amendments to , propose. ~? During a preliminary discussion, Messrs Hardy and Nosworthy were somewhat at loggerheads. The former said that a statement put forward by Mr Nosworthy was untrue. The chairman made Mr Hardy withdraw the statement and express regret. The discussion proceeded till after midnight, when progress was again reported on the- Bill,
