Taylor's helpful and inspiring life and character, and their sense of indebtedness for the magniEcout service he had rendered to the Prohibition cause during the past twenty year 3. Taylor their deepest sympathy ia her bereavement, as we recognise that iv the late Mr Taylor we had a true friend to Labour." Before the mooting of tlie Christ-<-hiirch Domains Board adjourned yesterday afternoon, the following motion, moved by the chairman <Mr U. J. Be.swkk), was agreed to: - "That this Board deeply regrets the death of the late Mr Taylor, tho -Viayor of this city, and THidens to Mrs Taylor and her family tho Board's fiincorwi. sympathy." At St. Andrew's Church, East Oxford, last Sunday morning, the Rev. R. 1 ,, . Gaibett. before beginning his sermon, made reference to tho late Mr T. E. Taylor. Appropriate hymns wore sung, and at the conclusion of the service tho "Dead March" in Saul was played. At the ordinary meeting of the committee of the Musical Union on Monday last. Mr A. Kaye, president, in the chair, a motion of condolence and sympathy with Mrs Taylor and her family, in connection with the death of the late Mr T. E. Taylor, was carried, the members standing. At Monday night's meeting oi the Waimairi County Council a motion of sympathy with tho wife, family, and mother of the late Mr T. E. Taylor, was passed. Before the Woolston Borough Council proceeded to business at its meeting on 'Monday evening, the Mayor moved the following resolution : —"That this Council places on record its sense of the great services rendered to Canterbury in particular, and the Dominion in general, by the late Thomas Edward Taylor, M.1 , ., Mayor of Christchurcb, and respectfully tenders to his widow and family the assurance of its sympathy with them in their bereavement." The motion was carried. At a largely-attended meeting of the Sydenham Football Club, on .Monday evening, the president, }>lr W. 31. Allardyco made feeling reference to the late Mr T. E. Taylor, and on his motion, seconded by Captain Mcikleliani, the following resolution was earncvl. the members standing in silence: - "That the members of the Sydenham Football Club ddsire to express their sincere sympathy with Mrs Taylor and family in their sad loss, but hope they will find consolation in the knowledgo of the expressed opinion, that if there were more men like the late Mr T. E. Taylor, the world, beautiful as he found it, wpukl be a much better iplace to live in." The Uampstead Town Board carried the following resolution: —"That the Board tender Mrs Taylor and family their heartfelt sympathy in their sad bereavement." Tho congregation of the Temuka Primitive Methodist Church carried the iallowing motion on Sunday:—"That we, the members, adherents, and congregation hero assembled, desire to place on record our sincere appreciation of the magnificent services rendered to theDominion by the late Mr T. E. Taylor, M.P. We deplore his untimely death, and recognise that the common people have lost a true friend, a wise counsellor, and a fearless fighter. To his sorrowing -wife nnd family we extend our heartfelt sympathy in their irreparable loss." At last night's meeting of the committee of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals it was resolved: —"That this society desire to forward their deepest sympathy to Mrs T. E. Taylor and the members of the family in their sad bereavement." At the meeting of the committee of the Canterbury Automobile Association last evening a motion was passed expressing sympathy with Mrs Taylor and family in their bereavement.
