LAKE COLERIDGE SCHEME!
Mr Evan Parry, the engineer appointed by the Government to take control of tho hydro-electric schemes proposed to be carried out in this country, arrived in Christchurch yesterday morning. He was accompanied by Mr L. Birks, who has been engaged at Lake Coleridge for some time. Mr Parry haa not yet had an interview with . the Minister of Public Works (tho Hon. R. McKenzie), but he anticipates returning to Wellington towards the end of the week in order to confer with the Minister. In the meantime, he is engaged with Mr Birks seeing various business people in the city, and making enquiries aa to the market for power in Christchnrch It is probable that, unless he is recalled to Wellington shortly, he will visit the Lake Coleridge works within a few days.
