A BRILLIANT PROCESSION TO HOLYROOD PALACE.
A PATRIOTIC DEMONSTRATION. (Received July 18th, 10.40 p.m.) LONDON, July 18. The Duke and Duchess of Connaught received the Kinj_ and tho Queen and the members of tho Royal Family at Edinburgh station, where the Lord Provost presented the keys of the city. Thero was a brilliant procession to Holyrood Palace.
The troops lining tho streets, the guards of honour, and the troops in tho escort, consisted exclusively of Scotchmen. The Soots. Greys, under Princo Arthur of Connaught, evoked almost tho same amount of patriotic acclaim as tho Royal carriage. Tho Chief Constable of Edinburgh headed tho -procession. Then came tho Duke of Fifo and the Forfar Yeomanry, followed by tho March Pursuivant, tho Unicorn Pursuivant, tho Ross Herald, and tho Rothesay Herald, in their tabards. Then came the first division of the Soots Greys' escort, the officers of tho headquarters staff, tho Lyon King of Arms, the second division of the Scots Greys' escort, immediately preceding the Royal carriage, which was an open landau drawn by four splendid Cleveland bays. The Royal Standard followed, and then came tho aides-de-camp to the ofßcers'in the procession, the third division of the Soots Greys' escort, the members of the Royal Household in three landaus, the fourth division of the Scots Greys' escort, and a squadron of Scottish Horse.
After entering the Palace precincts, the Kong, accompanied by the Duke of Connaught, inspected the guard of honour supplied by the Second Battalion of the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders. The King, on walking down tho lines, became visible to the spectators on the slopes of the hills, and the enthusiastic cheering was renewed.

VISITS GERMANY IN AUGUST. The Queen and Princess Mary will accompany the Prince of Wales to Germany at tho end of August.
