MYSTERIOUS DEATH OF A GIRL.
THREE ARRESTS FOR MURDER
(PBESS ASSOCIAT'ON TI&LEGRAM.) AUCKLAND, July 17. A sensational sequel to the death of Elsie . Holland on the night of June 13th last, at a house in First avenue, Kingsland, took place to-day, when three persons wero arrested and taken to the lock-up on a charge of having murdered the girl. Tho prisoners are James Edward O'Shaughnessy, his wife, Martha Jane O'Shaughnessy (formerly Mrs Maxvte.l): and tho "iatterV daughter, Mrs Hartley. The arrests were quietly carried out by Chief Detective Marsack and six of his staff.
At the inquest on' Miss Holland, the medical evidence was to the effect that death was due to the results of an illegal operation. The authorities deoline to Bay whether any fresh evidence has been discovered. The accused will be brought before the Magistrate to-morrow, whan a remand will be applied for. It is understood that other arrest, may follow. ,
