Our London correspondent, writing on May sth, says:— What small quantity of New Zealand oats there is offering of old crop comes in for only a moderate enquiry. Messrs Weddel and Co. report values to ho about unchanged at 18s Gd to 21s Gd for Gartens and Sparrowbills, JOs Oct. to 21s 6d for Duns, and lGs Gd to 1/s (3d for Danish, per 3201b. In tho absence of further buyers for shipment thero are now several parcels of peas on consignment available, ami No 1 New Zealand Maples aro offering at about 38a Gd per 5041b c.i.f., but meet with practically no demand at the price. Ex store values range from 41)3 to 45s per 5011b, according to sample. New Zealand descriptions of beans aro still in small compass and come in for only a fair demand at from 34s Gd to Sos'por 504 lb, ex store. Messrs Weddel and Co. write that the fine quality of the new wheat crop, small supplies of which are now available, meets with a good enquiry and finds buyers at 34s to 36s for Longborrv and 33s Gd to 35s for fehortberry for 4961b. On c.i.f. terms a number of sales have been put through in par-' eels afloat and for present shipment, and up to 33s (>d per 4801b c.i.f. has been secured for lots in tno former position and 33s 3d for later, arrivals.

Buyers are pretty keen at present to get decent lines of fat wethers, and tho market is very firm for this class of sheep. Good heavy, four and six-tooth fate aro bringing from 18s up to nearly £1. Cattle—Tho price of fat cattle shows no improvement on last week's report, but holders of good lines are hanging tight, anticipating, tho market to recover a bit shortly. Beef can bo quotpd. at 29s to 32s per 1001b. Holders of store cattle are not .anxious to dispose of them at tho present prices ruling— about 12s 6d to los loss per head than two or three weeks ago. Oats—The market is firm, but owing to tho higher prices asked for littlo business is doing. The quantity left in farmers' hands docs not appear to helarge, and holders do not seem inclined to soil at present quotations. About 2s 2d 0.t., sacks extra, is tho ruling price for A Cartons,' although for extra heavy samples moro has been paid. .A Sparrowbills aro worth from 2s Id to 2s lid, and B Sparrowbills about Jd Potatoes—There is not a great deal of -business doing, as holders are asking higher prices than merchants can afford to give. There is some enquiry for forward delivery, say, June-July-August, and business could be done lor these deliveries at about £3 10si 0.t., but farmers aro disinclined to sell torward, preferring to take tho risk or tho market for immediate delivery. LAND SALE. Messrs Pvno and Co. offered for salo by auction on Saturday several properties, including the -Wychiughani Estate, near Balcairn, on account of .Mr wummond Bailey, and comprising about 3170 acres; 24* acres in the estate ot tho late Mr L. Marker, situated at Sprinefield; and the equity in ill acres L.I.P. Morice Settlement on behalf of Mr J. W. Maidens. There was a largo attendance, but the prices offered for the Wychmgham Estate were somewhat below expectations, and tho property was withdrawn. > The 'Springfield property, 214 acres was sold to Mr H.
