WASHINGTON, Juno 17. Mr Lougworth opposed the wool tariff schedule, and other Representatives endorsed his views.
Tho Democrats havo decided to oxpcdito tariff legislation in preference to all other measures.
Tho Senate leaders announce that there are sixty votes in favour of tho passage of tho Reciprocity Bill, and a larger number against* Mr Root's amendment.
Mr Penroso has joined the friends of reciprocity. The latter aro unwilling to mako lengthy speeches, and ar< anxious to vote as early as possible. Mr Smith twitted the supporters of reciprocity with being ashamed U stand up in tho Chamber and champion such a measure.
Mr Towusond proposed to introduce nn amendment instructing President Taft to undortako further negotiations with Canada with a view to securing wider reciprocity.
The Bill passed the second reading. The debate will be. resumed on Monday. ) WASHINGTON, June 18.
A voto on the Wool Tariff Bill will probably bo taken on Tuesday or Wednesday. Tho House of Representatives held a Saturday night session with a view to concluding tho debate.
