DISTRIBUTION OF MEDALS AT THE SCHOOLS.
Yesterday, tho primary schools in Christchuroh nnd suburbs, ns well as those in the North Canterbury education district, broke up for the week's holiday granted the pupils i<> mark thn Coronation. Tho Coronation medals were presented to the pupils at tie different schools. At West Christchurch school the chairman of the School Committce(l>r. Chilton), and the Rev. C. H. Garland, and Messrs Barrell, McMurriy and HoUand (members of the committee) visited the various classes and addressed the children on some aspects of the Coronation. In the Infant Department of tho Addingtcn school the pictures in the picture gallery dealing with Imperial subjects, formed the object lesson on tho Coronation. Wreaths were placed round tho pictures of the late Queen Victoria and tho late Kin:; Edward VII., and the Empiro pictures were draped with tho Union Jack, the "New Zealand Ensign and other flag 3. Patriotic choruses wore sung, and the medals and picture tickets were "then distributed by tho Mayor of Spreydon (.Mr John Down) and by tho chairman of the School Committee.
