H.M.S. Pioneer, now at Collingwood with H M.S. Cambrian, is due at Wellington on June sth in connection with the drilling ot Royal Naval Reserve men. , The New Zealand Shipping Company s steamer Turakina is due at Hobart to-day The port was very busy yesterday and a very large amount of cargo was handled along the water front. There were ten arrivals oi steamers during thc day, the fleet in port including the lonic, Waitcmata, Opawa, and Morayshire. The pressure was relieved laat ni„ht by the departure of seven vessels. The Kairaki sailed last evening with cargo for Napier and Gieborne. She will load cattle at the latter port for Kaiapoi. The PutiM is due here to-morrow morning from Timaru, and will sail in the evening with cargo for Wellington, Wanganui, and ThTwootton, bound from Little Akaioa to Wellington with a shipment of cattle, called in at Lyttelton yesterday afternoon for fresh water eupplies. She left half an hour later for Wellington. ' , The Defender left Wellington-en Tuesday for Karamea, to load timber for Lyttelton. _ The auxiliary-screw schooner, Huia, whicn left Kaipara on Saturday, will call at Wellington to land part cargo of timber, before coming to Lyttelton. The U.S. and A. Line steamer Anglo-Pata-S onian left New York on May "th for Melbourne, Sydney, Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton. and Dunedin.
