The North Otago and Wanganui Jockey Club's Whiter meetings will be brought to a conclusion to-day. Mumura's victory in tho Oamaru Cup yesterday marked Mr H. A. Knight's third success in. that event, his previous winners having been Lapland in 1907, and Tikitere last year. Obsono, who won the last race oi tne day, was tho only first favourite to score at the North Otago Jockey Club's Winter meeting yesterday. Mr G D. Greenwood has had the misfortune to lose the yearling colt by Charlemagne ll—Annabelle purchased by him at the annual sale of the Elderslie yearlings. The colt tried to jump out of his box and broke a leg consequently having to be destroyed At the Wanganui Jockey Clubs meeting yesterday the stewards were called together after the Kaitoke Hack Hurdle race and took evidence as to the riding of A. Julian on Napper, but did not complete the taking of evidence until late in the day when tho decision was arrived at that A. Julian be disqualified for twelve months for deliberately pulling Napper. In t.he meantime Julian had ridden in the Century Hurdles. Frisco, the New Zealand Cup winner, owned by Mr. Newman and leased by Mr. McManaway, took bad after doing a good gallop at Feilding a few days since and succumbed. Some of his progeny may race ere long. Wimmera can be counted out for all near engagements, having gone lame. Torbelle. the second favourite in the Century Hurdles, gave a sorry exhibition, being a bad last all the way. Wimmera went amiss just prior to the Wanganui J.C. meeting, and could not fulfil his engagement in the Century Hurdle race. El Dorado, who ran second in the Wanganui Steeplechase yesterday, showed remarkably fino form at Riccarton two seasons ago when, besides winning the Beaufort and Lincoln Steeplechases, ho ran second to Xadador in the Grand National Steeplechase. , , , - The time recorded by Corazon in yesterday's Wanganui Steeplechase easily constitutes a record for that event.
