FOOTBALL.
Matches will be played at Lancaster Park on Thursday, June Ist, between Ellesmere and Peninsula sub-Unions, Ashburton and North Canterbury subUnions, and Malvern sub-Union nnd a team of Canterbury juniors. The combined country team will be picked after the matches, and those selected will remain in town, practice on Friday, and play a Christchurch team on .Saturday, June 3rd. The Ellesmere sub-Union will meet to select its own team at Leeston on Monday, May 29th.
