GRAIN SALE.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., held their first grain sale of the season yesterday. There was an exceptionally good attendance of buyers, and most lots were well competed for. Tho offerings comprised about 1126 sacks in all, consisting of wheat, oats, barley and potatoes, of which over 1000 sacks were sold. F.a.q. whole wheat brought from 3s Id to 3s 2£d, good fowl wheat up to 3s Id, seconds (good quality) from 2s 7id to 2s lid, inferior 2s od to 2s Gd. Oats sold very well up to 2s sd, ex store, for good Gartons, one or two small lots realising up to 2s 6£d, but the latter was really not an indication of tho value of larger lines. There was very little barley i offering, and feed qualities sold up to 2s 10d. Ono Bmall line of Ruby potatoes realised £3 7s Cd.
