LONDON, March 22
Ten thousand employees at Singer's Sewing Machine Works at Glasgow have struck, the grievance being the rate of girls' wages.

A compulsory Conference between the parties to the timber trade trouble proved abortive. The employers declined to change their position on the question of the employment of nonunionists.

All the Hudson Bay Company's employees west of Edmonton are on strike.
