Wool —For the forthcoming London sales, 477,000 bales have arrived, whereof 261,500 have been forwarded direct to the manufacturers, leaving 232,500, including those held over from the last sales, available for the sales.
GRAIN AND PRODUCE MARKETS. (BY OUR COmfERCIAL EDITOR.) Tuesday Evening. Business in grain, seed, and produce has been fairly quiet so far this week, and no bis deals aro reported. There are very few oats offering, fnrmers holding them for feed. Buyers are offering prices ruling last week. Potatoes are not being _ dealt with very actively, owing to North Island* supplies being on the market. The ruling price is £2 10s at country stations, but not a great many are offerin.: yet. Buyers aro offering 35s for onions, but sellers are inclined to hold for £2. Th© undermentioned are the prices naid to farmers, at country stations, free of commission, except where otherwise stated: — Wheat. —Old wheat, nominal: new .milling wheat 2s lOd to 2s 11VI, at country stations. Oats\ —New Algerians Is lOd to 2s Id, Cartons 2s to 2s Id, Duns Is lOd to Is lid, at country stations. Barley Ryegrass. —Italian 3s 6d to 4s, Perennial 3s 3d to 4s. at country stations.
