FATAL MOTOR-CAR ACCIDENT

A DOCTOR KILLED

A motor-ear accident occurred at Woodlands this evening, resulting in the death of Dr. Green, of Woodlands. Tho doctor was motoring across the railway line, and failed to see a train coining to town from the Gore (show, and came into collision with it. Dr. Green was killed, and'his companion in the ear (3liss McLeod) was stunned and badly shaken. Dr. Green, who previously lived at Wiiiton, recently went to' Woodlands, where he _ had bought rv farm, and was also practising his profession. (PRESS ASSOCIATION TEI_GRA"tf.) MASTEUTON. December 7. The disappearance of a man named Harold Mason has been reported from Woraiti, five miles out of Mastcrton. The missing man went to bed last Monday niglit as usual, and next morning n:> trace of him could be found. All his personal effects were left behind, except a razor, an old coat, a pair of trousers and slipper;*. Suicide is feared, and the police are searching the district.

BLENHEIM, December 7. A man named Uogerson, assistant in.-,veetor of works at Flax bourne, was brought into the hospital to-day suffering from injuries alleged to havo been inflicted by ono Charles Hegglun, a contractor. Rogorson has been severely handled, but the injuries aro not considered dangerous. A warrant has been issuod for Hegglun's arrest. GOHK, December 7. The man killed by an engine near Waipahi has beon identified as David Grierson, aged 06, who left Mntiiur.i on November 22nd, for Dunedin, and had not .since communicated with his friends. When lie left he had between £20 and £30 in his possession, but when found he had only one shilling. Deceased was very deaf, and not very active.

Whilst cutting labels yesterday morning, A. H. Campbell, an employee of Weeks, Ltd., got tho first finger of bi*s right hand caught in tho press. A flesh wound was inflicted and required to be stitched.
