WELLINGTON, December 7. Tho High Commissioner's cable, dated London, December 6th, is as follows: —'"The sixth series of the wool sales have closed. Fine merinos and all crossbreds were firm at the same F rices a§. at the close of tho last sale, nferior merinos wcro 3d per lb cheaper. Trade is good, and prospects are favourable for crossbreds. Supplies will be moderate. Large shipments of merino wools aro expected from Australia. Two thousand bales of New Zealand wool were held over. Tho estimated values of New Zealand wool, fifth series, held in London on October Bth, were as follows: —Superior merino 13d to 15' d. medium merino 10Jd to 12id, inferior merino 7Jd to lOd, fine crossbreds, all grades, 13' dto 16d; medium crossbreds, all grades, lid to loci; coarse crossbreds, all grades, BJd to IOJd.

The Bank of New Zealand has received the following cable from its London office: —"The sales have closed very firm, and prospects are good. Prices arc unchanged for all descriptions of wool except merinos. The sales closed irregularis for merinos. Tho total quantity held over is 8000 bales, of which 1000 aro from New Zealand."

Tho following cable has been received by Dalgety ami Company from their London office:—"The wool sales closed firm and active, with brisk competition. As compared with closing rates of last series, prices of merino wools of good quality and condition are unchanged; other descriptions of merino aro 5 per cent, lower, tho decline in heavy, earthy, and wasty* wools being sometimes more; greasy crossbred wools are unchanged, and scoured and slipo crossbred are ~) per cent, higher. Tho total net quantity available for sale amounted to 120,000 bales, of which -52,000 bales were sold for Home consumption, and 60,00(1 bales for tho Continent, leaving 8000 bales to bo carried forward to next series, of which 3000 bales were not offered."

The National Mortgage and Agency Company, Ltd., are in receipt of the following cable from their London Office, dated December oth, 1010.— "Wool market unchanged." Tho New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., havo received a cablegram from London giving tho under-noted market information:— "One hundred and twelve thousand hales sold, of which 60,000 were taken for the Continent, and 8000 bales held over. Sales closed strong with good competition. As compared with Just sales' closing rates, prices are about 5 per cent, lower for scoured merino super, and about 5 to ~h rer cent, higher for crossbred scoured."
