WEEDONS.

On Tuesday evening, in the Weedons Methodist Church, tiie Sunday School held its anniversary function. In the afternoon the children had their annual treat in the grounds, when th© office-bearers and teachers did their utmost to enable the children to thoroughly enjoy themselves. Several old friends of the school were present, anions- whom was Mr Jones, senr., of Tompleton, who for upwards of 21 years was superintendent of the school. Tea was served by the teachers. The meeting was held jn the Church, which was filled with an appreciative audience. Rev. J. T. Pinfold occupied the chair, and delivered an appropriate address. The following took part in the programme:—-Misses Lee (2), Dennison (2), Langridge, Maindonald, E. Mann, Mr Dennison, and Master Ernie Lee. The children of the school, under the leadership of Mrs Langridge, sang several hymns and action songs very finely. The report, which showed a successful year's work and a credit balance of over eleven pounds, waa read by Mr M. Law, tho superintendent. Prizes were distributed by the Chairman. On the motion of Mr F. Hight, a hearty \*ote of thanks to all who had assisted was passed with acclamation. On Sunday last Rev. M. Hill, of Lincoln, preached the annual sermons to large and appreciative congregations.
