LORD ROSEBERY.
MESSAGE TO SCOTLAND
I/ord Rosehcry, in a message to Scotland, through the "Glasgow Herald," declares that tho recent dissolution was tho most wanton and reckless tho country had ever known. Thereby the Government proposed to establish the tyranny of a Single Chamber Government, to do away with the hereditary constitution of tho House of Lords, and alter, by a catch election) tho immemorial balance of the Constitution. Moreover, they refused to refer the question of Irish Homo Rub direct to the people for decision.
Lord Heanage nnd tho Right Hon. Henry Hobhouse, ex-member for East Somerset, warmly support Mr Balfour's policy.
Sir Henry Kimber, speaking at Wandsworth, agreed with Mr Nesbitt that there was a danger of the colonies feeling that the ties binding them to the Mother Country wero loosened by tho crippling of constitutional safeguards.
Tho percentage of electors polling yesterday was 71, as compared with SO in January.
