NOTES AND MEMORANDA.

In connection with th© celebration of the jubilee of the St. Albans Methodist Sunday {School, a tea and £üblic meeting will be held on Thursday evening in the Church.' At the latter the President of the Conference will preside, and there -will be reminiscences by past officers of the school, and a programme. The nominations for the council of the New Zealand Sheopbreeders' Association (South Island) close on Saturday, December 17th, -with the secretary. Kntries for the open events in connection with the Papanui and Harewood Amalgamated District Sports close on Thursday next, at 9 p.m., at the Phoenix Hotel, Papanui. The ordinary general meeting of the New Zealand Shipping Company will be held at the offices to-day, at noon, to receive the report and balance-sheet of the London Board and elect directors.

A public meeting of Sumner and lledcliffs residents will be held in the Town Hall, Sumner, on-Thursday, at 7.30 p.m., to arrange for the annual gala for 1911. The Riccarton Parish Fete, which will be held on Thursday and Friday next, will be opened on Thursday at 2.30 p.m., by the Hon. Sir C. C. Bowen. Thero will be stalk for fancy and useful articles, and a number of amusements. The Fete will be held in the Vicarage grounds. _An exhibition of cookery by the New Perfection Kerosene Stove will take place at E. Recce and Sons' showroom to-day and to-morrow, from 2 to 5 p.m.
