SHIPPING NOTES.

Tha Kaituna went alongside H.M.S. Cambrian in tho stream early yesterday morning, and put 400 tons of ooal on board the cruiser. The collier came in shortly before midday, and was engaged during the afternoon in coaling the Encounter, which .took 600 tons. H.M.S. Pioneer will coal this morning, and will take 200 tons from the collier. The Kaituna will eail this afternoon for Oamaru to dnish discharging, and will afterwards go to Greymouth to load timber for Timaru and Lyttelton. The Komata is to load coal at Newcastle next Monday for Lyttelton. The vessel will probably call at Picton to dischargo part cargo before reaching Lyttelton. Tho Now Zealand Shipping Company's steamer Ruapehu is to leave Bluff at 5 p.m. to-day, and will arrive hero to-morrow io continue loading. Sho will leave about the end of the week for Wellington, whence she sails finally for London on the 16th inst. Tho s.s. Wootton sailed yesterday from Kaiapoi for Lyttelton. Tho s.s. Ksiriki arrived at Kaiapoi yesterday from Napier with a cargo of cattle and wool. The steamer Snowdonian, from Bunbury, via Auckland and Wellington, is due hero at the end of the week to discharge about 1,000,000 feet of jarradi. Tho New Zealand Shipping Companys steamer Paparoa. now loading at North Island ports, is duo here on Saturday next. She will complete loading at Lyttelton, and will leave this port finally on December loth for London, via Monte Video. The Wootton is coming from Kaiapoi to go on the slip for repairs to her rudder. The Kairaki will leave here to-day for Greymouth and Hokitika. The brigantine Aratanu is loaded and ready to sail for Kaipara, but requires a eecond mate. The auxiliary schooner Huia is expected to sail to-morrow or Thursday for Kaipara.
