£ On the occasion of the departure of Mr M. Sams, Rabbit Inspector for the Amuri district, who is leaving for Balmoral, Soutlr Canterbury, he was enk tertained at .0, smoke concert field on Saturday lust, in the Rotherham l' Hotel. There was a large attendance •of his Amuri friends. Mr M. M. ■ ■ Crampton occupied the chair, and in ■ presenting Mr Sams with a purse of • , sovereigns, snoko in high terms of the --' esteem in which Mr Sams was held by , v his many friends. Several toasts were ■ honoured, and songs were contributed ■ f by Messrs D. Sutherland, J. Gregan, :-- v M. Crampton, and A- Henderson, and -'! musical items by Messrs J. Gregan and , H. Halkett, Tho singing of "Anld Lang Syne" brought a pleasant evening to a close.
