ATHLETICS.

LITTLE RIVER CLUB.

The annual meeting of the Little River Athletic Sports Club was held on Saturday, Mr W. Aitken occupying the chair. The balance-sheet showed a credit of £34 4s lOd. Correspondence was read from Mr W. F. Parkinson, offering a cup for the competitor gaining the largest number of points m tho cycling evemts; from Messrs A. E. and F. Birdling, offering two trophies of the value of £2 2s each, to be allotted by the committee. The secretary waa instructed to write, thanking the donors. Messrs J. £J. Johnson, J. Montgomery, and Dr. Pemberton wero elected vice-presidents. Mr Chas. Jones was appointed handicappor. Mr A. E. Birdling was added to the list of athletic judges, and Mrasns W. F. Parkinson and F. Birdling were appointed judges for the horse events. Messrs S. Clew and J. W'aterfield wero added to the general committee. It was decided to hold the annual sports on Boxing Day. Tbe athletic events.will be subject to the Canterbury Athletic Union rules, and the cycling events to the New Zealand League of Wheelmen's rules. Altogether about £65 will be given in prizes.
