At Poema a deposit of ihis description is now being opened up by a local mining: company. Some of the ore is stated to have yielded by assay as high ac 3J ounces of gold b*t ton, whilst a*»aye of I.s ounces and: 2 ounces have been obtained from ore taken from various parte of the lode over a dbtance of 30 chains. Contrary to the g*ner*l rule, thi* lode does not appear to carry any blank stone for the poorest e«mple» yet obtained are reported to have yielded gold at the rate of nearly two pennyweights per ton.
