SUNSHINE AND RAINFALL.

p For the month of Noveinl>or just closed the total sunshine as recorded by the instruments at "The Press" office was 276 hours 35 minutes, a daily average of !) hours 13 minutes 10 seconds. This compares most favourably with the November sunshine last, year, when the total was 193 hours 9 minutes, and the daily average 6 hours 26 minutes 18 seconds. In November, 1908, the total was 263 hours 43 minutes, a daily average of 8 hours 47 minutes 20 seconds. Some of the daily totals last month were very large, tho best being 13 hours 50 minutes on the 17th, 13 hours 30 minutes on the 18th, 13 hours on the 30tli, 12 hours 50 minutes on the 19th, 12 hours 50 minutes on tho 24th, 12 hours 40 minutes on the 10th, 12 hours 40 minutes on the 12th, 12 hours 30 minutes on the 2nd, 12 hours 30 minutes on tho 29th, 12 hours 25 minutes on tho 20th, and 12 hours 20 minutes on the 11th. The brightest day of the month of November last year was the loth, when 10 hours 50 minutes were recorded. On, one day only during last month—the 14th—did the sun fail to shine at all, and on one other forenoon and two afternoons no sunshine was recorded. Last month, like its immediate predecessors, was very dry, the total rainfall for the thirty days being only .50 inch. Rain fell on six days only, but the fall on each occasion was slight, the highest being .22 inch, which occurred on the 27th. The rainfall for the preceding month was .30 inch. The total for the year to date, with eleven months gone, is 21.907 inches.
