The successful applications at the ballot held on November 25th for sections iv the Meadows Settlement, near Timaru, were approved. The following applications for renewable leases were also considered and granted :—Thos. Walter Brown, s. 11, blk. IX., 11 acres, Meadows; Geo. Hy. Cleaver, s. 10, blk. V., 20 acres, Stone V.S.; and Alfred Chas. Home, s. 2, blk. 111., 3a 2r 30p, Buddo. The proposals by the Amuri County Council and the I'pper Ashburton Road Board for expenditure of thirds were approved, except as regards a .section near Hanmer Springs, to which a branch road had not yet been constructed. In connection with re-dealing with expiring leases of portions of Darfiek: township, it was resolved that unsoid sections be, offered for cash sale at auetic.n before any further arrangements for leasing are made.
