PIGEON FLYING
The C_**i*rt___rch Homing Pigeon Societyflew off a raco from Napier on Saturday, November 26t_ v Eighty ___ birds .ere sent, _epre_e_tiiig twenty-six owners. The birds were liberated at 4 a.m. in fino weather, with a light north-west breeze. The winner proved to be Air E. Howe's Wanstead Queen, which traversed the distance of 3_> miles 12G3 yards air line, in 9hr 47min 17i.ee. In connection with tho same race, the special nominated single bird prize waa won by _tr F. Kingsford's Radiiu., being tho first nominated bird timed in. The S< iciety desires to thank Mr D. Laiug for kindly attending to and liberating the birds. Tho following ia the result: —E.
