ORGAN RECITAL.
The programme on Saturday noon oi the final organ recital for ti» year, by Dr. Bradshaw, at His Mau*. tv's, was appropriately made up v [ Christmas music. It was most cjiJotable throughout, and what was ifo, very satisfactory, was largely attend&l, notwithstanding tho strong counter g, traction of the departure of the Terr* Xova. The overture to "The Mo. siah," and the beautiful "Pastwil Symphony," artistically played, the A chonis from "lj» Childhood of Christ," by Berlioj, x charming composition, and "Ths of tho Magi Kings," with its peculis? instrumentation and tho "oprencjiU« tion of tho tramp of the camels too both excellently Jiiven. In the oflfo. toire, by Guihnant, on, two Chrishaa carols, tho "Adest© Fideles" v« specially finely played, the simpfe beauty of tho melody being brought out strongly. The air, "Hejoioe Greatly," enabled the tox huuau stops to be hoard to considerable Advantage, and in the chorus, "For UntoUs," tbe impressiTo forte effects on the words "Wonderful," "CoußssjSer, , ' were finely given. The two cso£ noticeable items on the proferaans were Wely's "Scene Pastorale—lie Distant Storm/ and tho well-k&ora sacred song, "Naaareth." In {)» former, 3>r. Bradshaw interpreted t!» various descriptive phases of tho composition with much artistic ik2L The shepherd's pipe, the eonjj of th* nightingale, and the rambling of the thunder were all given excellently: One of the most artistic touches in the playing of this piece was the twittering of the birds in the bush after tb» Btorm. In "Nazareth," the effect oi a fine baritone Toice singing was admirably reproduced.
