WAIPARA COUNTY COUNCIL,

A meeting of the Waipara County Council was, held on Wednesday last. Present—Mr 0. F. Clothier (chairman), Messrs Todd. Jones and Stewart. Mr i , . J. Overtoil wrote stating that Mr W. Macfarlane who was building a bridge over the ■Hurumii 'River, had approached him. with regard to giving ■ him access to the bridge by a short cut through his land to the WnikarJ Valley road. Mr Marchaut had asked the Council Ito inspect the Opihi bridge, near Tenuika. It w-is decided to go on tho 29th inst., and to notify the local bodies interested of the Council's intention. It was decided to form the portion of the LJmehurst road applied for by Messrs McGowan Bros. It was decided to call for tenders for shingling Armstrong's road,, also for the supply of dog collars. J. (Jretail's tender for cuttings, formation, and shingling, near Scargill. was accented. Cuttings, 2s per yard, formation 8> per chain, shinglinsr Is o<l for 400 yards, and Is 4' f d for 1600 yards. Waters Bros.' tender of £323 "3s was accepted for building a foreman's cottage near Woodgruve. It vas decided to advertise that all rates unpaid on January 21st may be sued for.
