SCHOOL COMMITTEES.

Thi! usual monthly meeting of the Linwood North School Committee was held in the schoolroom on Wednesday evening. Present—Messrs W. H. Denton (chairman), R. Carter, J. A. Clarke, W. A. Cooke, S. K. Dixon, It. Kllis and H. Murray. An apology was made for Mr G. Milne, and a letter was received from Jlr A. Hardy (secretary), in which ha statfd- that having left the. district, he regretted the necessity for resigning hu-i position on the committee. The resignation was accepted with regret, and it '.va.s decided to placo on record the committee's appi relation of the able way in ■which Mr Hardy had carried out his duties an a member of the committee, and iiko a& lion, eccrrtary. -Mr J. A. (,'larkts was appointed to the .position for the remainder of the term. The Xci'th Canterbury Board of Education wrote ro leave of absence to Miss Taylor, improvements to the school and grounds, incidental fund and general.
