SYDENHAM v. EAST CHRISTCHURCH.
Sydenham talcing first innings against East Christehurch on Saturday at Lancaster Park, occupied the wickets the whole afternoorij and treated their opponents to a fine leatherhunt, scoring 354, tho last wicket falling a few minutes before time. A feature of tho game was the fine stand between Watson and Patterson, who put on 110 Tuns for ftbte eighth wicket, Patterson scoring 92 and Watson 79. Wilson was unbeaten ■with 37 to his credit. Patrick batted nicely for 58. All the bowlers wero expensive Carlton (five for 114) andi Ward (three for 87) coming out best.
