SWIMMING.
* LYTTELTOX LADIES' CLUB. The annual general nieetii'g of tho Lyttolton Ladies' Amateur Swimming Club was hold on Friday evening in the Lyttelton Borough Council Chambers, H'hon there was a large attendance. After paying ill expenses, including the purchase of trophies, the year, which iiad bten a very successful one, ended with a credit balance of £'o. It was reported that thr Hub's membership included over 70 ladies and a number of children. The following officers were elected: —President.. Mrs C. Cook; vice-presidents, Mesdames C. Brown, C. Ilollis. G. Laurenccn, E. Cuitis, and M. J. Miller; secretary. Mrs F. E. button: treasurer, Miss Cook, committee, Mosdames HnMiin-:-on, Wilson Miller. Cicary, McAuliffe, and Mazer, Misses Smith, Ttnd L. Brown. A vote of thanks was passed to tho retiring officers. It was decided to engage the instructor in swimming Irom the ChrisMiurch Tepid Baths for thirteen lessons. After discussion it was decided to open tho season in conjunction with tho Lyttclten Gymnasium (men's) Swimming Club on November 17th.
