It was -rood to- bo present yester-day-afternoon at the crowded matineo o f*.Peter Pan" in tho Theatre Royal. The little ones were not only intensely interested in, the charming play, but gave vent to their appreciation of the humorous points with a hearty good will and "olume which w.-s most enjoyable. There were two points of the pfav which perhaps peemed to appeal to 'the serried ranks of little ones mere than any ether These were the apoeal oi Peter to believe in fairies, and the other was the combat to the death between the diminutive Michael md the gigantic Black Pirate lo t'ne appeal they responded with tho heartiest and most uiiniistakeable enthusiasm. Of course, all then sympathies in the fight were with Michael, and they *. ositjv.ly yelled approval when the ' little Voy so 3cie:v. T *.icallv disposed of lv's antagonist. Tho '"Ohs of appreciation which greeted the lovely last scene must havo been more appreciated by the performers than tho appl.ius- with which it is greeted oven* night by tho children of larger growth. In the evening there was a large audience. Mr Kingston having to leave for Europe his part as Mr' Darling and Captain Hook was taken by Mr -Maurice Dwllsy. . Though not acting '.Ito, character witn that streneth and appreciation of the absurdly humorous creation which was the noticeable noint of Mr Kingston s impersonation, Mr Dudley succeeded very well indeed. Tho piece went excellent!*, throughout, t.nd was greeted with hearty r.pplau.'.e. To-night "Peter Pan" will' again be given, end tomcrrow there will bo a m.itiueo m addition to tho evening performance.
