Bates's weather summary and fort-cast, issued ot Wellington at 5 p.m. yesterday, a-ro as follow:—Tbo weather has been scowery on the West Coast and Southern districts of the South Island, unsettled in tho far North, and cold and changeable elsewhere. High pressure continues in the far North, but a iall has been experienced everywhere to-day, and especially in the South. A westerly gale has been experienced in Fovoaux Strait. Present indications are fpr strong westerly winds with unsettled and cloudy weather generally. Rain is probable on all the western coasts, and 60uth of New Plymouth nnd Aapier.
