OTTAWA, May 23. The Rakaia has sailed from Montreal for New Zealand and Australia with a cargo of 5000 tons, including paper and agricultural machinery.

A GENEROUS GIFT.
LONDON, May 24
The daughters of the late Sir Donald Currie have presented £25,000 to the University at Capetown for tho construction of a hall as a permanent memorial to their late father. They have also provided for £150 per annum to be devoted to the founding of a Currie Scholarship.
