CORRESPONDENCE.

THE RULE OF THE ROAD. TO THE EDITOR OF "THE PRESS." Sir, —In to-day's issue,-. Mr Andrew Boag says that, it is the practice to lead a spuro horse on the off or right side of the rider, thus rendering it advisable to travel on the wrong side of the road. Your correspondent - thinks that the fact , should "be more widely impressed on the notice of people by having their attention drawn to it. The obvious remedy lies with the drover; ho should learn to lead the horse on the near side, so that there may be no exception, to tiho rule of the road.—Yours, etc., .-■-■' MOTORIST. ORGAN RECITAL. . TO THK EDITOIt OF " THE PRESS." Sir, —The arrangements ac to the admission of tho public to the : organ, recital in memory of- his late Majesty" King Edward VII. were the best tbatf : could pbssjbly have been devised for' the benefit or the few favoured persons, biit tho.worst possible for the general public. Enquiring beforehand; people' were told that all were to be alike, and that all had to': apply at the' little ticket boxes inside the building, just as if they were .going to pay 'n the usual way, when they would ho. given the ticket, without which no one would bo admitted to the recital." They were deceived. A select few hadtickets given them beforehand—they, showed them openly in the crowd in the street, and they had seats reserved for them in the dress circle. , As to: the management of the crowd before the doors were opened nothing could havo been, worse. There was one imfortunate young man in authority who. strove to keap the queues in order,; but his unaided efforts were unavailing. The result was that as soon as the doors were opened, the crowd ■• wliich had gathered in the stroet broke up the queues, rushed the doors, and a. scene of frightful confusion occurred, women screaming, children crying, ami men ejaculating- It would Shave been unseemly at any time. On the particular occasion it was horrible.— Yours, etc., JR.
