"PETER PAN."

Tin's evening will.see the commencement of the season at the Theatre Royal of Mr J. C. Williamson's Company in "Peter Pan." The company, which- is headed by Miss Lizetto Parkes and Mr Thomas Kingston, i.si said to be an exceptionally strong one, and admirably fitted for the interpretation of Mr J. M. Barry's fairy play. So much has been heard and written, of "Peter Pan" that it is not necessary to dilate upon the many excellencies of '.- the piece. -Christchiirch playgoers have already shown, by tlic large number of seats booked, their interest in the forthcoming performance.- Those intending to be present to-night should take note that the ■performance' commences at 7.45. The. plans of reserved seats will be at Messrs Milner and Thompson's until 1 p.m. to-day, and after that hour at Woodward's. . FULLER'S PICTURES. To-night, at the Colosseum, the new programme in connection with Fuller's Pictures will be given a£ain. This afternoon tho usual matinee, will talco place. WEST'S "PICTURES. At the King's Theatre to-night; the new programme of West's Pictures will be repeated. In the afternoon there will be a matinee exhibition. PATHE PICTURES. This at the matinee- in tho Alexandra Hail, and also in'the evening, a new programme will be given in connection with the Patho Pictures. OPERA HOUSE. To-night will be the last,presentation of the current programme of tho Opera House. , .On Monday- evening a number of new "stars" will make their appearance. These-include the Do Re Mi frio, a special eccentric musical turn, and Guillaumo Baby and Co., comedians and clowns, with Miss Lolita, Spanish dancer, and three dogs in a burlesque on a Spanish bull-fight.

All tho places of amusement in-the city were closed last night as a mark of respect to the memory of tho late King Edward. ■ '
