PIGEON FLYING,

The Christchurch Homing Pigeon Society flew off a young bird raco from Kaikoum on Saturday last. Tho birds were liberated by Mr J. ilullane at 11 a.m., with sou'west wind and fairly bright weather. The winner was Mt E. Kowe's Foy, which flew thc distance of 101 milcj 1263 yards air-line, in 2hrs 49min 37s.ee. -Tbo following is the detai'cd result:—E. Howe's- Foy, 1055 yds per minute; ■H. Beck's La Pale, 1030 yds; G. Mortimer's Early Morn, 1013 yds; W. Johnson's Paragon, lOKJyds; L. Walton's'Vanguard. 1010 yds; A. Hancock's All Red, 1010 yds; F. Kingsford's Tho Vagabond, 1006 yd..; Hill Bros. Lady Xet-a. 930 yds; W. Forgie's Bright Diamond, 998 yds.
