CANTERBURY ASSOCIATION.

THE SECRETARY'S RESIGXATIOX

A meeting of tho committee of the Canterbury Cricket Association was hckt last evening, when there were present—Messrs F. Wilding (in tho chair), S. Orchard. IT Wyatt, J. Reid, D. Reese. E. Willsteed. E. R. Caygill. It. B. Ward, and D. H. Thomson (hon. secretary). Mr Thomson -wrote resigning his .position a-s hon. secretary owing to his transference to Dunedin, and thanking the members for tho manner in which they had assisted him to carry out his duties. The Chairman said that in the resignation of Mr Thomson the Association had sustained a very great less. What he had done for tho Association was so obvious and well-known, that it was quite unnecessary for him (Mr Wilding) to say anything -at .all. Mr Thomson had been connected with the Association for several years, and it could honestly be stated that never had the Association had a meire painstaking and zealous officer. He moved that "Mr Thomson's resignation be aeceped with rrgret, and that a hearty vote of thanks be nccordod him." The motion was scconde-d by Mr S.
