■ There was a good attendance of householders At tbo Ehnwood Echooi l«st evening. Mr J. C. Adams presided. The annual report showed that the number of pupils had increased since the previous year, and the attendance had been good. The re-port and baiance-sheet were adopted.

A motion protesting against the action of the Minister in reducing the> grants was carried unanimously. The following -were elected as a committee: —Messrs Turner, Free, Howard, Winterburn, Dalmer, Gibson, MoKenzie, Adams, and Rout. Subsequently Mr J. C. Adams was elected chairman, Mr McKenzio deputychairman, end Mr Turner secretary and treasurer.
