MANAWATU TOURNAMENT.
(rRESS association telegram.) PALMERSTON NORTH. March 16. The Manawatu tennis tournament commenced to-day. F. M. B. fisher, Prouse and Stow, the three most prominent players, were engaged in the semi-final of the Men's Championship Singles. Prouse beat Fisher 9-4, the result being a surprise. FiHher is still in the Men's Handicao Singles. Men's Champion Doubles—First round: Fisher and Prouse beat Johnston and Pharazyn, 9-0; Stow and Collins beat Wither and Waldegrave, 9-2.
