Sir Edward Grey, in a speech at a Liberal banquet in the City, said if the reform cf the House of Lords was left to the other side, the Liberals would "be courting disaster, death, and damnation." Tho solution would be •n elective Chamber, elected not necessarily simultaneously with the House of Commonst and not from the Eame area.
The Government, Sir Edward stated, was determined to re-impose the Budget taxes, as by them they would stand or fall.
