THE BRITISH NAVY
WHERE SEA LORDS DIFFER,
United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. (Received February 7th, 12.50 a.m.) LONDON, February 6. The "Daily Mail" says the policy of Sir Arthur Wilson, First Sea Lord, differs from the policy of his predecessor, Sir John Fisher. Sir Arthur is convinced that the need of the Navy is not so much for Dreadnoughts as for armounjd cruisers. Sir Arthur :s also indisposed to continue wholesale "scrapping." Sir John Fisher bequeathed the programme for the coming year, including only four Dreadnoughts. The "Daily Mail" adds:— "At tbe end of 1912 Britain will have 20 Dreadnoughts (to Germany's 13) and 44 prc-Dreadnoughts (to Germany's 21)."
