The Maifistrate refused to cancel the order, but suspended it as long as the arrears were paid off at the rate of Is ncr week. Robert Currie. charged with disobrdienee of a maintenance ordor, was sent-onced to one month's imprisonment. Mr McConnell appeared for complainant. .Sydney Uoyd Taylor wfls sentencc<l to a similar period for failing to comply with the terms of a maintenance or<kr. Mr E. T. Harper appeared for complainant. Lillie iSmith (Mr Donnelly) applied for a summary separation order against her husband. Chas. Smith (Mr Hunter), on the ground of persistent cruelty. The Magistrate adjourned tho case, till January 11th. Patrick Ruddy (Mr Hunt) denied ho was the father of an illegitimate child and was responsible for its maintenance. Mr Donnelly appeared for complainant, and after hearing the evidence the Magistrate reserved his decision.
